Hello. I am Nancy Longmire. I am a Mother and a Grandmother. And I am a Healthcare Practitioner.
My initial involvement in the healthcare profession came from my concern for my son Chad, who was born cortically blind due to atrophy in the left occipital regions of his brain. I was told to expect a dire future, given his severe handicaps, yet I saw evidence of his intelligence and tenacity, even as he displayed extreme developmental delays. It seemed to me that all he needed was the right kind of help. After becoming a student of Dr. Glenn Doman, MD, founder of The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential, I implemented an intense physical routine with my son. Through repetitive body movements designed to reorganize the brain, he began to make great strides forward. It was when he developed a severe seizure disorder that we added allopathic medicine to his program, but with only temporary benefits. He needed more help. By aggressively seeking alternative means to augment his neurological care, I was encouraged by his doctors to become certified as his practitioner. I began with Applied Kinesiology, a chiropractic mode of healthcare, which then became the springboard for learning a vast array of other disciplines over the next ten years. Delving into balancing the emotions as well as the whole mind/body structure, I became certified as a Kinetic Educator and Holistic Practitioner. And Chad benefited immensely. Through mastering and simplifying a vast array of modalities I have utilized and refined a highly effective method of therapy for brain integration and trauma recovery I call Perception Repatterning Technique (PRT). The success of this therapy during thousands of sessions with clients has given validity to the work and honors the ability of the mind/body to heal itself. We just need to use the right tools. Seeing a broken brain become whole by observing a severely handicapped youngster become a healthy independent man has been my inspiration for the past thirty years, fueling my drive to explore, learn... and to share the best methods I have found for trauma recovery. This explains my passion for my work with PRT, with it becoming not only a most rewarding career, but also a means of contributing to the wellness of others...which, as a mother, only seems natural.
